You know that song in our Hymns of Zion book that goes, "Meekness is the noblest virtue"? Well, when I was in college, my roommates and I changed that to "Patience is the noblest virtue"...'cause we needed LOTS OF IT. I think that may apply to this article.
Parents' Handbook for Raising Children.
Luke,
ReplyDeleteI hope the two of you find a better source for advise that the linked article before you need it. (Like possibly the Bible. -- I know you know that, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded. I wholeheartedly disagree with several of the points in that article.)
May the Lord be with you as you move toward that phase of life.

fritzmb: That article was meant to be an amusing take on the frustration kids can foster, not an essay on how to Biblically raise your kids. I too disagree with several of the points.
ReplyDeletePlease don't take it seriously.
Luke,
ReplyDeleteI hear you, but too many people think that the frustration is an inevitable part of parenthood. It doesn't have to be if we have the proper Biblical perspective.
Child-rearing is serious business, and it troubles me when people make light of it.
Fritzmb: You make a good point. I apologize for adding to your frustration. You're right. Parenting doesn't have to be frustrating if we foster a proper Biblical perspective.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being willing to share your thoughts and hopefully fostering others to think also.
Luke,
ReplyDeleteNo apology necessary. I wasn't troubled by you, but rather by the article that you linked to, and the people who hold those attitudes.
