Amusing

You know that song in our Hymns of Zion book that goes, "Meekness is the noblest virtue"? Well, when I was in college, my roommates and I changed that to "Patience is the noblest virtue"...'cause we needed LOTS OF IT. I think that may apply to this article.

Parents' Handbook for Raising Children.

  1. Luke,
I hope the two of you find a better source for advise that the linked article before you need it. (Like possibly the Bible. -- I know you know that, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded. I wholeheartedly disagree with several of the points in that article.)

May the Lord be with you as you move toward that phase of life.

  2. fritzmb: That article was meant to be an amusing take on the frustration kids can foster, not an essay on how to Biblically raise your kids. I too disagree with several of the points.

    Please don't take it seriously.

  3. Luke,
I hear you, but too many people think that the frustration is an inevitable part of parenthood. It doesn't have to be if we have the proper Biblical perspective.

Child-rearing is serious business, and it troubles me when people make light of it.

  4. Fritzmb: You make a good point. I apologize for adding to your frustration. You're right. Parenting doesn't have to be frustrating if we foster a proper Biblical perspective.

Thanks for being willing to share your thoughts and hopefully fostering others to think also.

  5. Luke,
No apology necessary. I wasn't troubled by you, but rather by the article that you linked to, and the people who hold those attitudes.
