Kristi asked me post this letter to help their fund raising efforts for their Relay for Life team. I would be surprised if anyone reading this blog has not been touched in some way by cancer. It can be a real struggle, not only for the patient, but also for their family and friends. Often the financial burden that is placed on these people is too great to bear and can lead to all sorts of negative consequences. Here's the letter Kristi sent me:

luke! no offense here at all...i asked for some insight and i appreciate it. it's so much easier to take hardships when its yourself compared to your child that you know is trying her best to do what's right.
and yes you're right, we're not always going to get a fair shake i guess i just live in a dream world of where people treat other people like a human being. i guess we can kinda compare this to how God our Father must have felt when His Son was being treated so un-fair and unjust...and He was perfect!
thanks for the appropriate verses.
and thanks for your compassion on cancer. as you know we just lost the girls' grandfather to this disease and it's really rough.
blessings!
