James 1:2-4
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 3 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
So, do you? Do you count it all joy? Are you going through something now that's tough? The verse doesn't say to just "acknowledge deep down that it's for the better". It says to "count it ALL joy". Are you praising Him in your trial? Are you still bringing glory to His name?

note to self: pray for grace to apply! I love that verse because it has the power to turn the worst in to the best (a testimony of God to the world).
Hi Luke! I found you over at no_average_girl and am glad I did. Great verse.
Hi Beckie: Thanks for visiting! I hope you continue to come back often. May God be glorified!
wow, that's so true...i haven't thought of it like that before. it doesn't say to even find the best in it...as you point out, it says to just count it all joy. keep the posts coming!
btw, beckie, this is a great blog to visit! :-)
To an "ok" guy! Yes! It's a really tough call sometimes. I've been through some unbelievable trials and I remember reading those verses and thinking..."I know God is growing me." The process isn't always fun. Growing often involves growing pains (just ask my 11 year old son). Instead of calling Mom to massage my legs or give me acetaminophen...I call on my Father and say, "Help!"
That little photo of you makes me laugh a little. At first glance it looks like you have a pair of headphones on. All I can think of is, "Caller! You're on the air!"
Priscilla: I can totally sympathize with your son. I used to get the worst growing pains in my legs in the middle of the night. I'd wake mom up and she'd put hot towels on them and rub them until I fell asleep again. NOT a fun experience for either of us.
Thanks for the reminder that God loves me even though I'm not a cool guy. :-)
You're the second person who thought that looked like headphones! :) That's funny. It's actually a spark blocker in front of a fireplace. I just happened to be at the right angle.
Hmmm. Maybe I ought to try the hot towels.
Hot towels work great! Mom used to drape them over the oven door and let them warm up that way.
